Google has launched a new lightweight app called ‘Google Go’, which makes searching faster and simpler, especially for Android users in emerging markets such as India and Africa, who experience slower connectivity.

‘Google Go’ allows you to consolidate all your interests in a single app, conveniently pull up images plus GIFs, and find what you’re looking for faster with the help of smart suggestions.

Since the app was designed with more basic handsets in mind, Google has steered away from the card-based interface used in its conventional Google app found on iOS and Google Play. Instead, it’s included buttons for the app’s UI that open to separate pages. According to Mashable’s Victoria Ho, the app doesn’t seem to work for higher end smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy S8 or the Google Pixel 2.

“Get answers quickly and reliably with Google Go, even on slow connections and smartphones with low space. At 5MB in size, it’s speedy to download and get started,” reads the description of the app, which you can download via Google Play.
