Fashion Retailer Introduces Diverse Mannequins That Have Stretch Marks, Vitiligo
Fast fashion retailer
Missguided is taking the diversity message a step further with a new range of mannequins. It has not only included stretch marks and vitiligo, but also a wider mix of ethnicities to its mannequins at its store within London’s Westfield Stratford City and Bleater Shopping Centre, in aims of representing real women.
Following its decision
to shun the practice of photoshopping models’ stretch marks and cellulite
, the move comes as part of its ‘#MakeYourMark
’ social media campaign that debuted in December.
“We are on a mission to inspire babes the world over to love themselves, for themselves to embrace your flaws, and to not strive for what the world perceives as perfection. Because fuck perfection, it doesn’t exist. We are making a pledge to never retouch our models perfect ‘imperfections’ out.”
