This anti-smartphone take on the iPhone might finally help you get more stuff done in a day.

Nearly three years after the introduction of ‘The Light Phone’—a minimal gadget that only allows users to make calls—its inventors found themselves in search of a way to help people ease into an anti-distraction life naturally, rather than feel forced to make the switch.

“10,000 phones later, we find ourselves asking, ‘How can we go light more often? How can we go light for good?’”

The solution they’ve come up with is ‘Light Phone 2’: a device equipped with 4G LTE, as well as other essentials, to help you make that decision to simply disconnect from your smartphone and plug into the real world.

The ‘Light Phone 2’ is anti-glare, and has an energy-efficient, matte black or white screen with electronic ink to display messages, time, and more.

Its typographic-based ‘Light OS’ (a modified Android operating system) focuses on “simple communication,” allowing you to dial phone numbers, launch speed dials, and send texts (with auto-reply responses), more easily and seamlessly, providing added convenience to users of the phone.

It also doubles as an alarm clock, much like regular smartphones do, and can provide enough battery power for five days on a single charge.

The phone is still in its early stages, but its makers are optimistic that it can also include a map app to offer directions. Find out more here.
