A shady cryptocurrency called MIROSKII has come under the limelight for not only listing famous actor Ryan Gosling as its graphic designer under the bogus name “Kevin Belanger,” but also essentially having an entire team comprising fake people.

The pseudo Gosling profile, which describes him as an “experienced graphic designer with a clear focus on identities and illustration,” was first uncovered by Twitter user @CryptoShillNye.

It was later brought to the attention of CNET by way of Jackson Palmer, the founder of Dogecoin. After delving deeper into the team’s profiles, it was discovered that almost every identity on MIROSKII’s team was fake, using photos stolen from real individuals with wholly different names.

What’s more, the company has seemingly managed to raise US$833,000 in its initial coin offering (ICO). An ICO enables interested buyers to invest in a cryptocurrency prior to its launch.

CNET elaborated that until MIROSKII responds to its request for comment on this issue, there is no way to verify if the sum declared is even a legitimate figure.
