One Show Interactive Vol. 11
BY Timothy Lee

““...intensely visceral and intensely outlandish viral video for Calbury-Gorilla: in UNIQLOCK, which offered users a downloadable widget with multiple layers of functionality and whimsy: and in Newsbreaker Live, which brought movie theatre patrons together for full-audience, MSNBC-branded, interactive video games.”

“In all of these we see what may be the hallmarks of interactive work: usefulness, whimsy and an ability to bring people together.”- Kevin Swanepoel, President/The One Club

Title: One Show Interactive Vol. 11
Publisher and Editor: One Club

The third and final installment in the 2008 One Show box set, greets with the 11th volume of the One Show Interactive. With a similar cover design, but coming in a bondi blue, the latest volume of the One Show annuals , highlights the Best of Show-winner UNIQLO, Client of the Year Nike, to those mighty Swedes and more on how online and offline interactive media communicates.

The world is the web, and the world can be found in the web. The web pretty much sums up how the world is connected today, further proven with the very term used everyday – World Wide Web (WWW). And it is through this extremely convenient form of connectivity, that interactive advertising flourishes above and beyond traditional advertising. The aspect of interactivity nudges the viewer's (and potential consumer's) level of receptive acceptance and/or memory sustainablity of products, brands, services, and public service announcements, corporate or political groups.

The mission of the One Show Club is to champion and promote excellence in advertising and design in all its forms, and the third and final installment of the 2008 One Show box set once again stays true to this.

Interactive advertising has an objective that is no different from traditional advertising, but it employs interactive media and constantly pushes boundaries in the advertising world.

As Will McGinness of Goodby Silverstein & Partners says “It may be hard to put your finger on what exactly Interactive Media means but one thing is certain, it is a beast and it is growing fast. The very fact that the category continues to expand and morph at such an alarming rate is what makes this show special.”
