ad:tech, Southeast Asia's premier conference for interactive and digital marketing was back again for the second time, with throngs of executives from the marketing industry congregating at the Suntec International Convention Centre on the first day, to give a rousing welcome to a keynote address by Forrester Research's senior analyst and marketing guru Steven Noble, on "Digital Consumers & Interactive Marketing in Asia Pacific".
With a line-up of industry experts from around the globe including Scott Goodstein, the External Online Director for Barack Obama's Presidential Campaign to Angela Mackay - Head of Asia Pacific, Financial Times and various top-level management from global organisations such as Google, Yahoo! SEA, BBC and Microsoft, debating and sharing their key insights at these power panels, focusing on a wide range of topics from advanced marketing, branding aspects, measuring and evaluating the effectiveness of online campaigns, leveraging social media and hot trends such as location-based mobile advertising.
With social media and youth marketing being set as one of the major marketing and digital platform trends in 2009, ad:tech has also integrated these key topics into their sessions and workshops. With Graham Perkins moderating the panel by engaging a youth panel comprising of various university graduates and undergrads, he tapped their thoughts about blogging, gaming and social networking, as well as user generated content for the seminar attendees. Marketers delved insights on how the youth made purchases and how they could develop creative campigns to permeate the younger generation.
Another much looked-forward to keynote was also 'The Power of Digital Branding Through the Lens of the Obama Campaign', by Scott Goodstein, the genius behind Obama's digital campaign. He presented his strategic role behind the campaign and his use of social networking tools and mobile technology, as well as how to ultilize these to better engage your audience.
