From a little dot.
A child's mind is one of the most inquisitive minds. This is an age old saying that stands true in most instances, even now in adulthood. When i was younger, I would keep asking my mom why the country of my birthplace is just simply a small dot on a map. I was so fascinated with the world outside of that tiny dot, I would place pins on destinations I dreamt of visiting and I would conjure up adventures in different countries on different continents. Seeing the world was such a big dream back then simply because there was just so much mystery to it. In our day and age, the world is so much more smaller, and one can find vast information about almost any country through tools like Wikipedia and so much more. If I wanted to see what was going on in New York right now, in Manhattan per se, I could just log into Google Street View, and I would be able to view a live feed and actually see how bad the traffic is. It got me thinking that the trick now is, if the world is that much smaller, how can we market your portfolio globally?
Next stop, the world
Having a portfolio on TAXI is a great first step. We're a global website based off in Singapore and our viewership is strong across many influential countries. Our viewership is strongest in the US but we are growing very steadily in markets such as Europe, South America and especially Asia. We work with many event partners across the world such AdTech, Cannes Lions , Eurobest and many others. A list of our organisation, media and event partners can be found
here. With such great partners, we strive to push your portfolios to the right audience.
At TAXI, we also offer translation services for your portfolios. The world is getting much smaller but language is a major barrier from getting your works to certain markets. Currently, we offer translation services to Chinese and Japanese languages. From our findings, China and Japan are two of the hardest design markets to tap into because of the language barriers. We aim to help you guys get past that barrier, and at only USD$14.99 per month for each language, it’s a great deal. Upcoming language options include French and German. Do feel free to drop us an email on what other language translations you would like to see added in the future.
This week, we have also added Chinese and Japanese signup pages to help our fellow Asian counterparts get their works seen to the world. Following this plan, there will be dedicated localized networks within these markets where we’d be able to display your translated portfolios within the local community, so you’d stand a better chance being found by local prospects. That’d definitely put the world at your fingertips, all you’d need to do is to update your portfolio in English, and we’d do all the other legwork for you. It’s simply amazing.
Whats Cookin’
We've added archive links and similiar articles links to all our main sections on TAXI – News, Features, Website of the Day, Awards and Competitions etc. For this column, you’d be able to find the archive for previous ‘Technologist@TAXI’ articles on the left side of this article. This will help users navigate our past articles better and there are countless inspirational articles within our database. We will be adding a feature to add an avatar to display your portrait within your portfolio, it's been requested for quite abit and it helps put a face to the great artworks we see on TAXI, making your portfolio/resume more appealing towards clients and recruiters.
Also, keep the emails coming in as your feedback has been invaluable to us and it has helped a whole lot in making TAXI better for everyone, and you can drop me a line
here. Till then, have a great week ahead.
