Crowbar Awards 2009
Helping young talents break into the industry every year, The Crowbars attracted over a thousand entries, mostly from the Asia-pacific region.
A festival held in conjunction with the awards comprised of an Advertising boot camp and Seminar. Participants of the Crowbar 24-Hour advertising Challenge were given a 'live' brief by Glaxo Smith Kline to crack within 24 hours.
Mentoring the young students on how to take the brief apart and arrive at a good idea, were top-notch Creative Directors and Art Directors from agencies such as BBDO, Leo Burnett and BBH.Also inspiring students at the Crowbar seminar which was conducted in order for them to benefit and learn from the extensive experience and knowledge from professionals in the creative industry.
A panel of distinguished speakers from DDB, Y&R, Ogilvy to name a few, delivered talks on a range of topics from inspring creativity and how to put creativity into relevance in the business world.
Raising the bar on excellence, Lim Si Ping from the LASALLE College of the Arts scooped both Best of Interactive and Best of Design awards.
A first that an entry has won Best of Category twice. The judges were impressed by the media savviness of today's young talents, especially with well thought-out campaigns integrated with Social Media.
