Absolut Vodka has always been at the forefront of design, choosing collaborators to work with. This time, the iconic bottle has gotten a Chinese makeover, courtesy of pop artist Gao Yu.
The bottle, Absout 72 Bian, is the first limited edition bottled designed solely for the Chinese market, and the art and name of the bottle represents the Monkey King in Chinese folklore.
But it’s more than just a new design. Absolut will launch a digital campaign run by TBWA Great China as well. Other creative elements are slated to be launched over the next few months.
In other advertising news, BMW has been warned over claiming its new Concept ActiveE vehicle produced “0% emissions”. The guilty ad has been banned by the Advertising Standards Authority in the UK, and the car maker has been sternly told not to repeat such claims.
