What is it with musicians and recording industries and the internet? After Prince proclaimed the internet as “dead” a few weeks ago, John Mellencamp is now calling the web “the most dangerous invention since the atomic bomb”, reports Reuters.

Their reasons? It severs record sales, and prizes MP3 and digital files over the physical formats which have long been romanticized by musicians and hardcore fans alike.

And now they’ve another thing to worry about—mobile. An AP piece reports how radio broadcasters and record labels are insisting all new cellphones come with a built-in FM radio chip.
