While the iPad has supported the rise of eBooks, the PCs and netbooks are actually the main devices that are driving the eTextbook market.
The current eReaders have been unpopular because the prices of these devices does not justify their lack their functionality when it comes to eTextbooks.
Yes, we do expect a lot out of our gadgets. Unsurprisingly, Intel's recent study on user behavior has showed that most people do display angry or violent reactions when their tech devices fail on them. The people at Intel describe this as the ‘Hourglass Syndrome’.
