The pencil that “becomes permanent like a Sharpie marker after three days”—the Sharpie Liquid Pencil seemed like such a fascinating invention that tech blog Engadget had even written a feature on it.

Sadly, the pencil isn't as permanent as it was touted to be: the Engadget team discovered that their scribbles were hardly visible after a week. It purportedly still meets the international “technical standards of permanence” but for most consumers, that really isn't helpful at all.

A micro pig farm in Cambridgeshire has also been accused of making false claims in its advertising. The Advertising Standards Authority has banned the farm's misleading ads because their fully grown pigs were not as tiny as they had claimed.
