The company known for its racy ads featuring topless or scantily clad models is in trouble. American Apparel is facing bankruptcy, and there’s little CEO Dov Charney can do about it. A humorous listicle on Flavorwire details the once-mighty empire’s downfall through a series of 10 ads.

On a more serious note, Guardian profiles Charney and the rise and fall of American Apparel. The brand itself is still strong, some fashion insiders tell Guardian, but its Charney and his many cases of sexual harassment that get in the way.

Still, it’s been a good time for advertisers’ public opinion. An AdWeek article, citing Gallup poll figures, said only 36% viewed the ad/PR business negatively.
