Yes, location-based sites have been popular. Among just the young and tech-savvy city dwellers that is, who make up only 4% of the American public.

These location websites still remain optimistic: the companies think that an increasing number of real-life incentives (such as store discounts) could encourage more internet users to take to their services.

The power of social media isn't just about the numbers, although the public exposure that such networks provide is still appreciated. Shut Up, I'm Talking attracted over 600,000 fans, who did not care for the main discussion point of the book: "Other Diplomacy Lessons I Learned in the Israeli Government".
