The logo chosen for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil has received much flak for its “childish” design and the lack of public participation in the selection process.

There is considerable anxiety about Brazil's ability to host the upcoming event; local airports have been “behind schedule” and construction work on the stadiums have yet to begin in some of the host cities.
