In an age of digital downloads, it’s something of a feat for 30-year old band Iron Maiden to continue to get its fans to visit record stores and pick up physical copies of its albums. The New York Times investigate the surprisingly modern marketing strategies of the heavy metal band. Up the irons.

And in that digital media battlefield, the Apple–Amazon war is moving beyond music and eBooks into TV shows as well. According to the Wall Street Journal, just hours after Apple announced that its new Apple TV will be renting shows at 99 cents per episode, Amazon followed suit.
