Negative Space In Logo Design
The personality and style of the brand can come through in the logo choice by thoughtfully choosing or crafting the typography, the color palette and even the tiny details like the use of white space, the kerning of the font, the shadows and gradients applied.
But some of the best logos of all are remarkable because of the hidden details they contain through the clever use of negative space.
FedEx is a great example, with the negative space in-between the D and the E creating an arrow. Adding hidden meanings, symbols and signs within the logo help to show off a subtle part of the brand’s personality, and can also make for a more memorable and thoughtful design.
We’ve brought together a collection of beautifully designed, ingeniously crafted logos that all use negative space to help fill out the image and add an extra level of depth, style and cleverness.
We hope you find them a great source of inspiration for your next design project.
