In China, A 30-Story Hotel Built Over 15 Days

Chinese sustainable building company Broad Group has built a 30-story tall hotel prototype in China over 15 days.

The building, which was constructed near Dongting Lake in Hunan Province at the end of 2011, is made of prefabricated modules.

Despite the record-setting timeline, the building boasts impressive features such as being five times more energy efficient than conventional structures—due to its external solar shading and internal air quality monitoring system.

The hotel has also been tested by the China Academy of Building Research and is able to withstand a 9.0 magnitude earthquake.
