Singapore will host the CEFPI Australasia Region International Conference 2007 for the first time at Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre. This 2-day annual conference aims to bring together educators, academics, architects, facility planners, builders, information & communication technologists and other interested groups working to support creative and responsible planning, design, construction and renovation of schools to provide quality educational learning environments for students of all ages.

As education systems develop and respond to the demands of the new knowledge society, school design is facing a number of challenges. The key issues to be discussed / explored under the main areas of Design, Pedagogy and Technology include:

What are the future educational goals and how can school design best meet the needs of 21st century learners and educators?

How can new and existing built infrastructure best accommodate increasingly diverse teaching and learning needs?

The impact of new technology on learning and school design

Designing sustainable and relevant school buildings

Designing schools in urban centres

Internationally recognised speakers will be invited to introduce innovative ideas as well as presentations by practitioners who have initiated successful changes, on site visits, workshop, discussion groups and panels.

Incorporated in the conference programme are the Site Visit highlights which encompass exclusive and valuable field trips to witness the latest educational facilities in Singapore.
