Istanbul Design Week 2007 aims to bring production companies, designers, opinion leaders, young talents, professionals and design fans together at the Old Galata Bridge between September 04th and 10th. This year Istanbul Design Week has a much wider concept with its extensive international connections. The event becomes a perfect platform for designers and producers to reach consumers and make new international connections. In this platform once again non-governmental organizations, universities, occupational organizations, small and medium sized companies, industrial sector representatives will share their ideas with the design world. We expect from all participants to evaluate Old Galata Bridge in the most creative way where Istanbul Design Week is organized. Because in Istanbul Design Week, the space does not limit your creativity, only your creativity limits the space!
Conferences and Panels
idw 07 hosts conferences and panels on everything related to design. All past and future trends with conference and panels which will make the world famous designers share their experience.
Exhibitions
Visitors of Istanbul Design Week got the chance to meet with the design cultures of different geographies within idw 05 and idw 06. Twinkle Twinkle from Britain, "Made for China" exhibition by Opos Design Group, Italy, Electrolux Design Lab and Global Local Helsinki from Finland are among the past exhibits. Within this concept, idw 07 will continue to host the design exhibitions from different countries.
Workshops
Workshops for design addicts and university students have become a platform where the young people exhibit their creativity and share their energy since 2 years. This year, idw will welcome international students to several design workshops with local and international designers. The final works of the workshops will be exhibited at the Old Galata Bridge.
Designers Area
Designers Area will hosts internationally renowned Turkish designers and their most prominent products. This special exhibit will welcomes design addicts at the entrance of the old Galata Bridge.
