Xerox Named Top Workgroup Color Printer Vendor By Resellers

STAMFORD, Conn., August, 2007 -- For the fifth time in six years, Xerox Corporation was named the top workgroup office color printer vendor by VARBusiness magazine, a leading industry publication for value-added resellers who market high-technology products, solutions and services. The honor was based on the publication's annual survey of more than 5,400 solution providers.

The VARBusiness Annual Report Card Awards recognize outstanding partner programs in 15 product and service categories from desktops to software. Xerox received the honor on Aug. 21 at a ceremony during the XChange '07 Conference in Orlando, Fla., a gathering of channel professionals.

The overall winner of the workgroup color printer category, Xerox earned the highest scores of any color printer vendor in the product innovation and support subcategories.

"The Annual Report Card results are a true litmus test of the reseller community and how they view vendors," said Robert DeMarzo, vice president and publisher, VARBusiness magazine. "The fact that Xerox has again dominated the color printing category is a reflection of the emphasis the company has placed on becoming a trusted advisor to its reseller partners, and the loyalty they've created by doing so."

Over the past year, Xerox has introduced several new programs to include more options and growth opportunities for reseller partners. For example, last September the company launched PagePack™, a cost-per-page pricing program that allows resellers to offer flexible, affordable monthly service and supplies contracts based on the number of pages their customers print. Earlier this year Xerox also introduced the IT Advantage Program, giving certified resellers access to higher-end multifunction systems, thereby creating more margin and profit opportunities.

"At a time when everyone is vying for the growth opportunities in the color printing and small and mid-sized business markets, partnerships are more important than ever," said Jim Firestone, president, Xerox North America. "Receiving this award for the fifth time is a testament to the importance Xerox places on forging opportunities for mutual growth and profitability with our resellers and our other indirect channel partners."
