Los Angeles, Calif. (October, 2007) - For the second year running, Splashlight announces sponsorship of the 5th Annual Lucie Awards, Monday October 15, 6:00 p.m. at Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center. Splashlight also hosts the debut of the International Photography Awards "Best of Show" exhibition, curated by the Director of George Eastman House, Dr. Anthony Bannon, on Saturday, October 13. Additionally the Splashlight Photo Booth was announced. There will be installations of the photo booth at all of the IPA events this year, specifically turning the lens on the photo industry itself, moving toward the goal of publishing the 10th year Lucie Awards Anniversary book, featuring the very images shot in the booth. Award winning international photographer Robert Leslie is shooting the portraits in the Splashlight Photo Booth.
Upon making this announcement, IPA and Lucie Awards founder Hossein Farmani remarked: "We are so excited that Splashlight has continued on this fantastic ride with Lucie. Splashlight offers versatile space with limitless possibilities for our pre-Lucies celebrations. Along with the support of Eizo, HP and Photoflex, we are realizing yet another dream of creating the Splashlight Photo Booth at all of the Lucie events this year. We already envision the many great photographic moments that will come out of the special events planned with our honorees, our IPA winners and our guests."
Splashlight co-founder Benoit Lagarde added, "Splashlight is proud to join the Lucie Awards to celebrate the creative people we all work with every day. Our organizations share a strong mutual respect that grows from a shared vision of industry leadership. The Lucies and Splashlight are both recognized for their superior brands and services. We are excited to support this important event honoring the gifted professionals who continue to raise the standards of our industry."
