October 2007

SAN DIEGO, CA – H2O Audio, the leading brand of waterproof and ruggedized sports accessories (including a complete line specifically designed for Apple iPods®), announced that it has signed Olympic Swimming multi-medalist (and World Champion) Natalie Coughlin as its new swim gear design and development advisor.

Coughlin comes on board as H2O Audio introduces its new iSH2 (integrated waterproof case and headset for iPod Shuffle 2) and begins development of the Natalie Coughlin Signature Series swim gear.

“I am passionate about swimming and thrilled to have the opportunity to help people throughout the swimming community experience the fun of listening to quality music while enjoying a swim or participating in other water sports,” said Natalie Coughlin, Olympic athlete and H2O Audio Swimming Products Advisor. “I feel a tremendous synergy with H2O Audio and look forward to helping them create the next generation of audio swim products that will truly help transform swimming for all athletes and enthusiasts.”

Coughlin won five medals at the 2004 Olympics and is one of only three American women to win five swimming medals at a single Olympics. She holds the current world record in the 100-meter backstroke and her talent and versatility have her positioned to become one of the most decorated female athletes of the 2008 Beijing Games. Coughlin graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with honors, where she continues to train with coach Teri McKeever.

“Natalie is involved in every aspect of her sport and she’s an experienced, respected member of the swimming community,” said Heather Novickis at Octagon.

“Through this multi-year partnership, Natalie will provide H2O Audio with unmatched experience and insight into their swim gear development with the significance being an entirely new way for people to enjoy the sport of swimming.”

H2O Audio is committed to creating high-performance swim gear and accessories and is excited to announce the release of the new iSH2 integrated case and housing for iPod Shuffle.

“The iSH2 is the first of many revolutionary products we have planned. With Natalie’s guidance, we are confident swimmers across the globe will be thrilled to find new ways to energize their training routines and workouts,” said Kristian Rauhala, CEO of H2O Audio.

“Octagon has worked diligently to help us put this relationship in place and we feel certain there is a very bright future ahead for Natalie, Octagon, swimmers everywhere, and us.”
