Montreal, Quebec, — Fujitsu Consulting, the North America consulting and services arm of Fujitsu Limited, announced the acquisition of Promaintech Novaxa, a consulting engineering firm specializing in operational strategy, business process transformation and performance optimization. This acquisition is aligned to Fujitsu Consulting’s long-term strategy to increase its presence in emerging markets and industry sectors. Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
“Tougher competition in all markets is forcing companies to create more value and pursue excellence to ensure their continued success. As an information technology and business process management leader, Fujitsu Consulting is augmenting its service offering by acquiring Promaintech Novaxa’s expertise in business process optimization in the industrial and service sectors,” explained André Pouliot, Fujitsu Consulting’s executive vice president and Quebec general manager.
With a staff of over 50 professionals, Promaintech Novaxa has built a reputation in the marketplace for assisting organizations in optimizing their business processes, implementing best practices and developing continuous improvement programs that increase operational performance.
This firm, which has been in operation for 10 years now, is positioned as a leader because it has developed operating strategies founded on the latest tools and best practices. Promaintech Novaxa was certified by the National Research Council of Canada (value-added product development, value-added product design, value-added innovation) and was the first company in Quebec to provide assistance in the application of Lean Six Sigma concepts. It conducts close to 400 projects a year for recognized businesses in Quebec and has achievements to its credit in over 16 countries.
The acquisition will form the basis of a new business unit within Fujitsu Consulting that will focus on providing a range of business process optimization consulting and implementation services.
The unit will be supported by Fujitsu Consulting’s enterprise systems integration and application management services, providing complete, end-to-end continuous improvement solutions. The senior management team of Promaintech Novaxa will remain with Fujitsu Consulting, providing continued leadership in business development and managing the progressive growth of the new unit.
