November 16 – 19, 2007
Polk Museum of Art will be hosting its annual Holiday Festival the weekend of November 16 – 19, 2007. Formerly known as Festival of Trees, the event is a holiday showcase with the Museum completely decked out in trees, wreathes and other arrangements.
Several additional events will also be held during the festival:
Holiday Luncheon – On Friday, November 16, enjoy a chance to have a gourmet lunch surrounded by the Holiday Festival. Lunch will be catered by Catering and More. Two seatings will be held: 11:30am and 1:00pm, and the cost is $30 per person. Tables of 8 are available. Call 863-688-7743 x. 225 for reservations.
Gems & Jewels – Regional jewelers and artists will be on hand to display their creations and talk about their work on Friday, November 16, 10am – 4pm. Artists include Debbie Beach, Anisa Stewart, Vicky Luffman, Punam Saxena, and Ilene Phelan. Gems & Jewels is free with Holiday Festival admission.
Reception & Art Auction – On Friday night, November 16, the Museum will host a reception and fine art auction from 7 until 10pm. Tickets are $25 per person. Guests can enjoy music and hors d’oeuvres, and then join in on a live auction of work by regional and national artists. Milk & Cookies with Clifford – Polk Museum of Art has joined forces with the Junior League of Greater Lakeland and WEDU for this fantastic children’s event featuring snack time, an art activity, story time, and a chance to have your child’s picture taken with Clifford The Big Red Dog. Plus, each child will receive a free book! This great event will be held three times during the weekend: Sunday, November 18, 2 – 4pm; Monday, November 19, 10am – noon; and Monday, November 18, 2 – 4pm. Tickets are $15 per person and reservations are REQUIRED. Call 863-688-5423 for reservations.
Breakfast with Santa and Elf Workshop – Bring the kids for a buffet style breakfast with Santa Claus. Have their picture taken with the Jolly Old Elf, and then head upstairs for a great art activity in the Elf Workshop. This event will be held Saturday, November 17, 8 – 10am. Tickets are $15 per person and reservations are REQUIRED. Call 863-688-5423 for reservations.
The Holiday Festival will be open 10am – 5pm on Friday, Saturday and Monday, and 1 – 5pm on Sunday. Admission is $6 for Adults and $3 for children ages 4 to 12. Because this is a fund raising event, Museum members will not be admitted free during this time.
