On November 1st the Dutch Fashion Foundation organized the first edition of the Mercedes-Benz Dutch Fashion Awards: A new initiative in order to create a focus moment in the entire Dutch fashion industry. Designers Niels Klavers and Astrid van Engelen received the Mercedes-Benz Dutch Fashion Award: a financial reward of 25.000 Euro.

On November 1st Dutch fashion designers Niels Klavers and Astrid van Engelen won the Mercedes-Benz Dutch Fashion Award 2007 with their label Klavers van Engelen.
They received a financial reward of 25.000 Euro to enable them to take further steps in the international fashion industry. The international jury and its honorary member Maria Luisa Poumaillou chose Klavers van Engelen out of seven nominated designers during this first annual Award show.
On this festive evening 800 guests were invited to the Beurs van Berlage in the heart of Amsterdam to celebrate Dutch fashion.
