Students of Commercial Film from All Over the World Compete for the Porsche Award the Fourth Time
On November 15, 2007, the best commercials produced by students at Film, Design and Art Colleges all over the world will be presented once again at the Ludwigsburg Film Academy. This is the fourth International Competition for Young Film Makers promoted by Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart.
The jury of experts for the first time including German film maker Sönke Wortmann, the winner of this year’s Grimme Award, will once again be choosing the three best commercials out of the ten best already chosen in a pre-selection process.
Taking up the famous numbers of classic Porsche 911 Carrera, the sports car manufacturer will be presenting prize money of Euro 3,911, 2,911 and 1,911 for the first, second, and third places. The Germanwings airline is furthermore awarding a Special Prize for the most original communication idea.
In all, 76 commercials were entered in the contest this year at the Film Academy by students from ten countries. The ten shortlist candidates now entering the final selection come from Germany, Australia, Great Britain, the USA, and the Netherlands.
Apart from the overall artistic impression, the jury will also base their judgment on the casting, idea, artwork and film editing. The Winner’s Ceremony is being held in Studio 2 on the premises of the Film academy. Admission starts at 19:00.
