Porsche Design Now has Store in Frankfurt Airport
PRESS RELEASE

Biggest airport franchise store in the world opened

The Porsche Design Group (Porsche Lizenz- und Handelsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG), Stuttgart, opened a franchise store in Frankfurt airport on November 20, 2007. This is the largest Porsche Design franchise store at any airport in the world. The franchise partner is Bizi Art Shop GmbH Zimmermann, which already has several shops in Frankfurt airport. The 145 square meter store is on the second level of Hall B, on the so-called "landing side" of the airport, the area that is generally accessible without security checks.

“As our target group travels a lot and more and more high quality products are being sold at airports as a general rule, it is important for us to be present in Germany’s biggest airport,” said Dr. Jürgen Geßler, chairman of the management board of Porsche Design Group. In Bizi Art Shop GmbH Zimmermann, Porsche Design has found an ideal partner with many years of experience in the field of duty free sales.

Barbara Deters, CEO of Bizi Art Shop GmbH Zimmermann: “We have been working successfully with Porsche Design for many years now and are pleased to be able to open the biggest Porsche Design Store in the world at the airport. We are convinced that the technically inspired men’s accessories by Porsche Design will be an excellent addition to the range of products at Frankfurt airport.”

The new store offers a wide range of Porsche Design products, from watches and pens through to fashion and the new mobile phone. The shop design supports premium products by Porsche Design in their functional essence and communicates the idea and philosophy of the brand. There are contrasts through the combination of natural materials like smoked oak and innovative high-tech materials.

Already since 2004, Porsche Design has been continuously expanding its activities at airports. There are now Porsche Design Stores at international airports such as Munich, Vienna, London, Moscow, Dubai and Hong Kong. In 2008, new stores are to be opened in Zurich, Copenhagen and Manchester.

In addition to these activities, Porsche Design has stores in Germany in Berlin, Leipzig and Hamburg. In September, a 50 square meter shop-in-shop was opened in Munich in the Ludwig Beck department store. Porsche Design is also present in KaDeWe in Berlin.

Porsche Design is a global luxury men’s brand and is determined by engineered products. Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche established the Porsche Design brand in 1972, whose products are attracting consumers with their technical innovation and represent functionality and timelessness in its purest form. Porsche Design products are sold in exclusive own retail and franchise stores, shop-in-shops, up-market department stores and exclusive specialist stores.
