Tokyo,- NEC Corporation and NEC Asia Pte Ltd, the regional headquarters for NEC in the Asia Pacific region, have agreed to collaborate with NTT Communications on SAP services in the South East Asia region. The three companies commenced joint marketing and sales activities.
The new collaboration will see the three companies provide joint outsourcing business for SAP systems. Under the deal, NTT Communications will provide network platforms and oversee the operation and management of hardware, such as server storage for SAP systems held for client companies at the company's data centers.
At the same time, NEC Corporation and NEC Asia will offer development, operation and maintenance services for SAP systems.
Client companies in the region have conventionally constructed and operated their own in-house SAP systems.
Under the new joint outsourcing business, dedicated systems engineers from NEC Corporation and NEC Asia will efficiently control the lifecycle of SAP systems for client companies, with hardware securely managed at NTT Communications data centers equipped with the most advanced security platforms.
The outsourcing will not only reduce the costs associated with system operation and management, but also enable client companies to utilize SAP systems to quickly respond to changes in the business environment.
NEC boasts an outstanding sales record in South East Asia, reinforced by its achievement in receiving the SAP Award of Excellence 2007* across six categories for SAP system sales in the Asia Region in 2006. Buoyed by this award, NEC continues to enhance its sales and support structure for SAP systems in Asia, including China, and plans to increase its workforce in the Asia region from 200 to 500 employees over the next two years.
The new collaboration with NTT Communications forms an integral part of these efforts to strengthen NEC's SAP services in the region.
