Gap Expands Partnership with Pierre Hardy To Launch Collection of Women's Shoes

SAN FRANCISCO - Gap announced that it has expanded its partnership with accessory designer, Pierre Hardy, to bring a collection of women’s shoes to its U.S. stores. Gap Europe has already been working with the designer, having recently launched his first Gap Design Editions capsule collection for fall in its stores in the UK and France.

The U.S. collection, which will be the latest from Gap Design Editions, will feature an assortment of women’s shoes, from chunky platforms, to elegant flats and delicate sandals. Priced from $78 to $98, the collection will be available online and in select Gap stores nationwide beginning in February 2008.

“Above all, Gap is a real brand, with history, values and identity. It is really exciting to enter this new universe and challenge my creative talents,” comments Pierre Hardy.

Fresh for spring/summer’08, the collection consists of six styles, including a peep-toe wooden wedge with gladiator style straps that wrap at the ankle and fasten with a neat fabric covered square buckle.

The wooden wedge comes in chambray, candy stripe canvas and an indigo print fabric. Also in the platform category, a stacked wooden heel with brown leather straps and brass buckle detailing. Among flat styles is a sleek Grecian double strap T-bar sandal available in antique brown, white, and metallic-gold leather.
