San Juan, Puerto Rico - Centennial de Puerto Rico, a leading telecommunications provider in Puerto Rico, and Research In Motion (RIM), a global leader in wireless innovation, announced that the BlackBerry® 8703e and BlackBerry® 8830 World Edition smartphones are now available to Centennial customers.
“The addition of the BlackBerry 8703e and BlackBerry 8830 World Edition smartphones to Centennial’s portfolio increases our ability to support our customer’s business and personal needs, keeping them ahead of the game with state of the art technology,” said Alvaro Pilar, Senior Vice President and General Manager for Centennial Business Solutions.
“This is yet another confirmation of our commitment to keep ourselves at the forefront of the telecommunications industry, making it easier for our clients to stay connected anywhere and at all times by taking full advantage of our superior network.”
Both the BlackBerry 8703e and the BlackBerry 8830 World Edition support phone, e-mail, messaging, organizer, browser, GPS and other mobile applications, and are compatible with Centennial’s EV-DO network to deliver broadband wireless access.
The smartphones feature large, bright, high-resolution color LCD displays that provide ample workspace for viewing e-mail, web pages, and other applications. Intelligent light sensing technology automatically optimizes screen lighting levels for viewing in outdoor, indoor and dark environments.
Each handset comes equipped with a full QWERTY keyboard that enables rapid, efficient and accurate message typing and information entry on the go.
The BlackBerry 8703e and BlackBerry 8830 also offer premium phone features in a design that provides a natural feel while dialing. Placing calls with one hand is fast and simple and the handsets include large, dedicated “send,” “end,” and “mute” phone keys.
The handsets also feature intuitive call management tools, such as smart dialing, conference calling, speed dialing and call forwarding. Both smartphones also come with a built-in speakerphone, support for polyphonic and MP3 ringtones and integrated Bluetooth wireless technology.
The BlackBerry 8703e and BlackBerry 8830 World Edition smartphones also include built-in GPS to support location-based applications and services. Customers can also use BlackBerry® Maps to provide step-by-step driving directions.
The stylish BlackBerry 8830 World Edition goes a step further. It is the first CDMA-based BlackBerry smartphone capable of roaming on GSM/GPRS networks, so customers can travel internationally with full mobile voice and data features.
It also includes a media player for music and videos, an expandable memory slot and a high-capacity battery.
“These two BlackBerry models give us the opportunity to continue offering products that help our customers reach their goals. In our industry it is extremely important to provide business solutions that fulfill the needs of our clients and allow them to optimize the productivity of their business,” said Carlos Blanco, President of Centennial Puerto Rico.
