Lake Success, N.Y., – Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leading provider of digital imaging solutions, has been recognized with four "Pick of the Year" Awards by Buyers Laboratory Inc. (BLI) for exemplary product performance.
During BLI's extensive lab testing and observation, the Canon DR-4010C scanner, Color imageRUNNER C3380i and imageRUNNER 5075, and 3035 multifunctional products stood out among competitors in the following product categories: Departmental Scanner, Segment 3 Business Color MFP, and Segment 5 and Segment 3 Monochrome MFPs, respectively.
Twice a year, with its "Pick of the Year" Awards, BLI, a leading independent office equipment test lab, recognizes products in each category that have provided the most outstanding performances during tests for reliability, image quality, ease of use, productivity, multitasking abilities, print drivers, administrative utilities and a host of network connectivity attributes.
Testing takes approximately two months to complete and also includes an extensive durability review, during which each unit is run at the manufacturer's maximum recommended monthly volume.
"We are honored to be recognized for our innovative design and ability to uniquely meet evolving document management needs," said Tod Pike, senior vice president, Imaging Systems Group, Canon U.S.A., Inc.
"These awards are a testament to Canon's commitment to providing our end-user customers, channel partners and dealers with the reliability and range of features that meet the digital imaging needs in today's diverse enterprise environments."
With more than 65 years of expertise in designing imaging systems, Canon's products have come to play an integral role in companies the world over.
Designed with the company's proprietary advanced imageCHIP (Concurrent Hyper Intelligent Platform) system architecture, Canon's MFPs received high marks from BLI technicians for a number of aspects of their performance. Additionally, as 2007 was the first year BLI has tested scanner systems, the Canon DR-4010C, the Company's flagship departmental scanner, also received high marks for its performance.
Canon DR-4010C – "Pick of the Year" for Outstanding Departmental Scanner
The Canon DR-4010C, which entered the market in early 2007, was selected as a "Pick of the Year" based on its strong performance with scanning speeds of up to 42 pages per minute (ppm) or 84 images per minute (ipm) in color, automated image processing features, ease of use, media handling, and overall productivity demonstrated throughout BLI's testing procedures.
Noted for its ability to maintain its fast scanning speeds in color, BLI also commended the Canon DR-4010C for its highly automated functionality, bringing users greater flexibility.
Canon Color imageRUNNER C3380i – "Pick of the Year" for Outstanding Segment 3 Business Color MFP
Noted for strong reliability in BLI's comprehensive two-month evaluation, which included a 100,000-impression durability test, the Canon Color imageRUNNER C3380i provided exceptional productivity.
Testing the Canon Color imageRUNNER C3380i at its maximum speed of 30 ppm (for color), BLI found the digital multifunctional solution provides excellent ease-of-use, owing in part to its well-designed color LCD touch-screen control panel and for the ability for users to choose between the device's highly intuitive main copy screen and the express copy screen.
Canon imageRUNNER 5075 – "Pick of the Year" for Outstanding Segment 5 Monochrome MFP
The Canon imageRUNNER 5075, received notably high marks for its reliability and ease of use. BLI cited Canon's proprietary MEAP technology, as well as the device's outstanding scanning technology via optional Universal Send, robust feature set, including an advanced suite of security features, and excellent multitasking capabilities as compelling reasons for selecting the Canon imageRUNNER 5075 in the monochrome category.
Canon imageRUNNER 3035 – "Pick of the Year" for Outstanding Segment 3 Monochrome MFP
Canon's imageRUNNER 3035 was selected for its user-friendly design and highly automated functionality enabling users to complete projects with fewer steps, leading to greater productivity.
BLI cited the device's excellent scan functionality, very good overall output quality, high reliability and a cost per page that is among the lowest for the units tested.
