Hardly anything that is puzzled out by the people of New York's Eyebeam which is "an art and technology center that provides a fertile context and state-of-the-art tools for digital research and experimentation" fails to be convincing. To say the least.
Same for creator/choreographer Grisha Coleman's 40 minute long performance installation echo::system - The Desert, which will "immerse audiences and performers in a completely synthetic environment comprised of audio and visual media, digital movement analysis, robotics and live performance."
All this happens within "a setting that recreates a desert ecosystem simultaneously made up of the virtual and real, exposing how one affects the other."
If you think that sounds a little heady, be sure it will probably be far more sensual, intelligent and exciting than what one usually associates with performances...
Grisha Coleman's echo::system - The Desert, December 13th to 15th at Eyebeam, 540 W. 21st St. (btw 10th and 11th), New York.
