London - JCDecaux, the UK’s leading outdoor advertising company has been awarded the Waitrose outdoor advertising contract, following a competitive tender.
JCDecaux won the long-term contract following representations from a number of rival outdoor companies.
Under the contract, JCDecaux will manage and develop 6-sheet panels at Waitrose branches. JCDecaux will install scrolling advertisements at branch entrances, introducing a design specifically created for Waitrose.
Jeremy Male, CEO of JCDecaux said, “Waitrose customers are a highly desirable, upmarket audience. We are delighted that Waitrose has selected JCDecaux as its outdoor partner to develop targeted advertising networks across its portfolio.”
Paul Hogan, Manager, Local Marketing from Waitrose said, “We look forward to working with JCDecaux, a company that shares our values of quality and service. JCDecaux’s reputation for innovation and design backed by a strong sales team has led to the award of this contract. This is an exciting move for our business providing a new opportunity for brands to communicate with our customers.”
The new panels will enable advertisers to reach the sought-after Waitrose audience. Over 40% of Waitrose main shoppers are AB (double the national average) and 75% are ABC1.
Installation of the new poster sites will begin in February 2008.
