BASKING RIDGE, N.J. – Avaya Inc., a leading global provider of business communications applications, systems and services, announced that Trevor Gruenewald has been named vice president of the company's North America sales channel for small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs).
In his new role, Gruenewald will be responsible for market strategy and channel programs to support an estimated 2,000 Avaya resellers specializing in SMB sales and services.
"Small and mid-sized businesses are the largest and fastest-growing customer segment in the marketplace," said Ken Archer, vice president-North America channels, Avaya.
"With his significant experience in the industry, Trevor is well-positioned to provide strategic direction to our SMB product team and to help Avaya develop and execute winning programs and promotions."
Avaya has made significant investments intelligent communications solutions and services for the SMB market, and the company continues to add new applications to its award-winning Avaya IP Office solution, which supports the telephony, messaging, networking, conferencing and customer management needs of SMBs.
To date, more than 110,000 IP Office systems have been sold in 69 countries around the globe, serving more than four million users.
In addition, Avaya recently launched a variety of new initiatives to support its SMB resellers. Free Web-based training is now available through Avaya University, while a new "Master Reseller" program enables select Avaya BusinessPartners to recruit and train independent sales agents to sell Avaya's small and mid-sized business portfolio. Many of the new agents specialize in data networking, but want to offer their clients ready access to voice solutions as well.
To date, 10 Master Resellers are working with more than 300 independent sales agents across North America.
Gruenewald has been with Avaya since its 2000 launch and formerly served as sales vice president for global demand generation. He also has worked in a variety of sales leadership capacities for both AT&T and Lucent Technologies.
Gruenewald will be based in Highlands Ranch, Colo.
