A complete interpretation of the duties for those involved in Party Wall matters.

"The Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors is an examining body for professionals involved in matters concerning Party walls and associated works that architects should be aware. Through the examining process it is evident that a number of reoccurring mistakes are being made in the preparation of Awards"

This half-day seminar for architects and designers outline the duties under the Party Wall Etc. Act 1996 and provides information on the interpretation of the Act in an attempt to reduce mistakes.

Broad aims of the seminar are to introduce delegates to the requirements of the Act by providing:

Brief history, Reasons for legislation, approach and the Party Wall Act

What is a Party Wall? Party Fence Wall, Other Party Structures and Excavations

What does the Act affect? Rights of Building Owners, Party Wall Notices, Counter Notices, Construction of walls
on a line of junction, Duties of Building Owners, Excavation & Construction on adjacent sites.

Resolution of disputes, The Award, Rights of entry and Schedule of Condition

Expenses; Security of Expenses, Accounts & settlement, Fees, Easements and Recovery of sums.
