D-Link Unveils 'D-Life': Breakthrough Product & Website Redefine 'Plug and Play'

D-Link, the end-to-end networking solutions provider for consumer and business, unveiled "D-Life™," a user focused extension of the D-Link product offering where everything just works simply and effortlessly via an easy to use website (www.d-life.com). The D-Life website is designed to provide customers an easier way to experience a connected, digital lifestyle.

The D-Life website leverages Web. 2.0 connectivity and community, allowing users to easily manage their D-Life world via an online, customizable interface that can be accessed anytime, anywhere the user has Internet access. The ground-breaking site, which has been in development for the past several years, takes the work out of installation and management of devices by offering the following user experience:

Connect

To set up the product the user follows these steps

  • Go to www.d-life.com and set up a user account
  • Add the product to their D-Life account by entering 2 product ID numbers located on the device
  • Connect the D-Life-Enabled device to the home network
  • The user is ready to go, simple as that

    Organize

    Users manage and organize their D-Life products and D-Life services from one central place, via an easy to navigate website

  • Users can easily add new D-Life products to their existing account
  • Users can define their D-Life profile and define the settings for their D-Life-Enabled products

    Empower

    Users get more from their digital products then ever before

  • On the D-Life website the user will be able to purchase services associated with their products, including minutes for phone usage, storage for video.
  • Connect with other D-Life users using Internet phones, instant messaging and Internet voice mailbox.
  • Allow other D-Life users to share their products, including the remote viewing of security camera video

    The growing list of D-Life-Enabled products will include networking, communication and security solutions designed to enhance the digital lives of users. The combination of the D-Life-Enabled products and the D-Life site will provide seamless interaction between the user and their products and between the user and other 'D-Lifers'.

    The D-Life experience will evolve to enable users to view and share news, weather and topics of interest, as well as post content relative to their digital experiences.

    The first D-Life products will be demonstrated this week at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in the D-Link booth, #36212, South Hall, Las Vegas Convention Center. Stage presentations will also be given from the D-Link booth throughout the CES show every hour.
