The 49th annual Clio Awards, the world’s most recognized global awards competition honoring creative excellence in advertising and design, today announced the selection of noted director Dante Ariola of MJZ, Los Angeles, to serve as Executive Chairman of the 2008 Technique jury.
Ariola received the Director’s Guild of America (DGA) “Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Commercials” award in 2006, and has been nominated for the honor four times. After graduating from New York’s famed High School of Music & Art and directing music videos for major label groups such as Cake and Cypress Hill, he moved to commercial direction at Propaganda Films. Ariola, who joined MJZ in 2001, has directed award-winning commercials for ESPN, Budget, Volkswagen, XM Radio, Nike, HP, Levi’s and others.
