mywaves’ Mobile Phone Penetration Surpasses 18 Million

mywaves, the largest mobile video destination, announced that its popular mobile video service has reached more than 18 million mobile phones around the world. This marks a dramatic increase in adoption, particularly in the U.S. where mywaves has seen a 70% increase in month-over-month usage since last fall. With more than 5 million monthly unique visitors seeking branded, professional programming to watch on their mobile phones, mywaves has quickly built one of the largest and most engaged mobile audiences.

mywaves attributes its growth in popularity in the U.S. to an increase in adoption of video-enabled phones and its own bolstered, ad-supported content offering. In the past three months, mywaves has inked content deals with media giants Fox, CBS, Columbia Records, and Nettwerk Music and emerging creative powerhouses RipeTV, Mondo Media, National Banana, and Xonger, to name a few.
