DENVER, - ProLogis, the world's largest owner, manager and developer of distribution facilities, announced that it has joined ENERGY STAR, a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy that aims to protect the environment through energy-efficient practices and products.
As an ENERGY STAR partner, ProLogis pledges to assess its current energy consumption and operating and maintenance practices, as well as identify strategies that will continually improve energy performance enterprise-wide.
In support of achieving its goals, ProLogis will gain access to ENERGY STAR's guidance for energy-efficient management tools and resources as it works to lessen its impact on the environment and overall energy expenditure.
"We are very pleased to be partnering with ENERGY STAR," said Jack Rizzo, managing director of global construction for ProLogis.
"We believe we have a responsibility to build and manage high performance buildings. Today's announcement is a continuation of our ongoing sustainability efforts and a step in the right direction as we consider ways to reduce the impact of our business operations."
