February 2008
Like last year, the 2008 DMY exhibition takes place in the Arena Berlin’s unique industrial park, located directly on the shores of the Spree. The location provides the DMY exhibition with a space spanning approximately 7.000 sq. m. and welcomes over 150 participating designers, thus enabling the DMY to establish itself as an unmissable event in the international design scene for young, creative and innovative design.
For all of those who wish to participate in 2008: fill in one of the following forms mechanically or by hand (block letters), and return it duly signed to the following address before February 27, 2008, per post or fax.
DMY YOUNGSTERS
DMY is a platform for young creative and experimental concepts. Over 150 international designers present their work in an exhibition area spanning 7000 sq. m. with an extensive supporting event. Borderlines turn into interfaces, night turns into day. The focal points ‘DESIGNLABOR’ and ‘SCHAURAUM’ are rounded off with workshops and seminars, and find their most vivid expression in the ‘KLUBLABOR’ - the interplay of all elements as an event.
From May 21 – 25, 2008, young international design protagonists will gather once again in Berlin and introduce professionals as well as a highly diversified public to their latest inventions, while celebrating - in unique Youngsters-style - the DMY 2008 event with a 96-hour non-stop programme marathon.
DMY ALLSTARS
in addition to the impressive main exhibition area - the Arena factory grounds - the Festival offers the possibility of including external locations to the event. Thus, exhibitors and designer groups who wish to create a special installation in 2008 now have the opportunity to apply separately for a “satellite” event. The DMY thus initiates a diversified and exciting expansion of the festival.
All of these “satellite events” will be connected via a festival guide and circuit; in this way, the Festival no longer restricts itself to a central location, but reaches out to decentred exhibition spaces all throughout Berlin.
An additional catalogue featuring the contributions of all exhibitors will be published, alongside a daily newspaper.
