Deadline: 19 March 2008
The 2008 Melbourne International Design Festival is fast approaching (17-27 July) and the National Design Centre is seeking submissions for one of its favourite public events, PopUps.
PopUp events are exactly as they sound – events that ‘pop-up’ during the Festival, in any form and any place, across Melbourne and beyond. In 2007, design studios, galleries, universities, professional design bodies and others got involved by presenting PopUp exhibitions, launches, street installations, workshops, and all manner of design-focused events.
Now in its fourth year, the ongoing success and popularity of PopUps makes it a major feature of the 2008 Festival program.
There is no fee to be involved and all events selected for the PopUps program are supported and promoted through the Festival program, website and publicity campaign.
So, on with the thinking caps and in with the proposals! Proposals are due by 5pm, Wednesday, 19 March 2008.
