THE POSITION:

Reporting to the SVP Director of Client Service, the Account Director will act as the senior client manager for a group of the Agency's most high profile account, overseeing the strategic and operational direction in order to deliver excellence. He /she will be responsible for gaining a clear understanding of the existing client needs. He /she will develop and implement relationships and strategies to increase the company's service offerings to the client. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for the overall financial performance of all accounts and ensure the achievement of budgeted profit.

THE PERSON:

The Account Director will be a strong inspirational leader who has the ability to articulate a clear vision. The individual will have a proven track record of being a recognized leader of people in a customer service intensive environment. He / she will possess a clear track record of accomplishment in successfully managing creative accounts and for growing business, profitability and client satisfaction. A minimum of eight years of successful marketing management experience is required.

This person must be a strong and confident communicator. He/she needs to be able to manage change and keep a clear perspective of the end goals. The ability to multi-task, track several projects at once and monitor their progress is paramount. The successful candidate will be have excellent time management skills and will be able to monitor progress and reprioritize needs based on changing circumstances.

The role requires someone who understands how to help clients arrive at high-level positioning and messaging and how to then leverage the full marketing mix - including but not limited to - print, online, web, content creation (Webinars, whitepapers, podcasts, etc.), direct mail, e-marketing, viral, out of home, etc. to achieve established marcom objectives.

The incumbent will be a strong and energetic team facilitator who possesses a positive outlook and who is able to inspire and motivate others. He/she will have a successful track record of staff management. Additionally, this person will take responsibility for their own performance management and development areas.

An established track record of relationship building and the ability to identify and develop new business are desired.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

The Account Director responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Client Relationship Management

* Manage clients proactively and professionally, ensuring their expectations are not only met, but exceeded.
* Resolve issues escalated by the client and communicate significant issues to the Senior Vice President.
* Develop and maintain networks and relationships among senior key decision-makers in client organizations.
* Develop strategies to capture viable business opportunities, presenting and communicating these to clients.

Financial Management

* Accountability for overall financial performance of accounts against budget. Manage the budgeting process and present to the Controller for approval.
* Ensure direct reports are clear about financial targets and support their achievements.
* Ensure a structured plan for profit enhancement is in place and is monitored closely for performance.
* Forecast monthly results at the mid-month timeframe.
* Develop and analyze the monthly performance and progress reports, including expense management and achievement of financial targets.
* Manage forecasting as required.
* Mange the contract negotiation and re-negotiation process.
* Ensure contract and pro-forma compliance.
* Be alert to market opportunities, exploiting and cross-selling effectively.

Marketing/Communication Plan Development & Creative Management

* Clearly understand how to help clients achieve their marketing objectives through the proper leveraging of effecting messaging and tactical planning.
* Collaborate with clients to build these plans
* Deploy and manage Agency resources to execute these plans

People Management and Development

* Manage the selection, development, retention, motivation, and performance management of direct reports.
* Ensure all Human Resources matters are managed effectively and consistently.
* Establish credibility with direct reports, communicating effectively and ensuring a two-way process for sharing information is in place.
