Avaya, a leading supplier of business communications systems, is to collaborate with BT in offering bundled solutions for voice and data communications aimed at business customers in Germany. An agreement was signed yesterday at CeBIT.
With the joint offering, German enterprises will be able to obtain all voice telephony and Internet connection services from under one roof. Avaya provides clients with on-site support, supplying them with IP-based communication systems and terminal equipment. As voice communication is based on the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and an IP trunk provided by Avaya and BT, only one single line is needed for all communication services. BT takes care of the telephone number administration and Internet connection.
“Thanks to the co-operation between Avaya and BT Germany, our clients can get an ‘all-in-one’ solution covering a SIP-based voice connection, broadband Internet access, and on-site support,” explains Sascha Korten, Director Strategic Alliances at Avaya Germany. “Based on BT’s network, Avaya offers a service that enables organisations to seamlessly migrate to SIP trunking. They do not need ISDN lines or dedicated Internet connections any more. All services are delivered via one single line.”
Lothar Geuenich, Head of Global Telecom Markets at BT Germany, says: “I am very pleased about our co-operation with a leading provider of intelligent communication systems and I am certain this offering will be very attractive for Avaya’s business customers. By combining all services, companies only need one access line. This saves on administration and maintenance and helps them to run their communication systems more efficiently.”
