Design and Access Statements are now an important part of all planning applications and an important recommendation for applications seeking building regulations approval.
But what are they, when should they be used, and what should they contain? How can they be used in conjunction with guidance, such as the Approved Document to Part M (2004) and BS8300, to achieve accessibility and inclusion for all users whilst maximising the opportunities for creativity and design freedom?
What is the role of the client in providing an inclusive environment, and what role does a statement play in the management of an environment when in use? This talk will consider all of these issues.
