The Email Marketing Designer works with a variety of customers across a multitude of industries to conceptualize, create and optimize their email program designs. Designing for the email environment requires strong, proven design talent to seamlessly build or extend a company's brand to email marketing, while applying best practices for this unique interactive medium.
As the medium is web-based, understanding how HTML code renders across the many different subscriber views is an important design consideration. Hands-on knowledge of HTML and CSS as well as a passion for persistence in testing for rendering and functional performance is a must.
The Email Marketing Designer partners daily with other Designers for peer sharing in this highly evolving landscape, Service and Product colleagues, as well as external customers. A positive, adaptable, entrepreneurial attitude is certainly important for teaming with the breadth of these internal and external work relationships.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Design research: brand guidelines, web site, offline communications, competition
* Design mockups: best practices and brand knowledge applied to optimal design solution
* Design presentation: prepare design rationale for presentation
* Build HTML emails/templates, with rigorous internal testing for rendering & functional performance
* Prepare simple, easy-to-use Design Specification Documentation for clients
* If required, upload and segment lists, schedule deployment
* Collaborate with Marketing on delivery of best practices whitepapers and relevant information
* Lead client training on best practices and email template implementation
* Partner with internal teams for successful client service management (Account Managers, Product, Technology, Deliverability, Strategy)
Skills Required:
* Proven graphic design talent, particularly in web/interactive/emails
* Hands-on experience with HTML, understanding of CSS
* Software expertise: Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office programs
* Impeccable eye for detail, strong organization skills
* Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects and work autonomously
* Customer-facing communication skills
* 4 year college degree
