Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide Names New Office Chief for Ho Chi Minh City
PRESS RELEASE

March 2008

Nilesh Pritam, former Marketing and Business Development Director at Vocanic, joins Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide as Head of Ogilvy PR, Ho Chi Minh City, replacing Danny Phan who transfers to Ogilvy PR Singapore as Director, Government Practices with immediate effect.

Backed by a decade of experience on both the client and agency sides, Nilesh will be responsible for fostering new business opportunities and driving the growth of Ogilvy PR's clients in Vietnam.

“Nilesh joins us at an historic time in Vietnam's development," noted Christopher Graves. "It is Asia’s youngest country demographically but one with a very high literacy rate--an electric combination of youth and education. Growth in everything from consumer goods, to tourism, to stock market IPOs and online social media are exploding simultaneously. Nilesh has the right experience and high energy to tackle all of those.”

"The pull of working in one of Asia's fastest growing economies and being part of the Ogilvy PR family was too good to let slip," confessed Nilesh. “Ogilvy PR has gained a powerful reputation through its sweeping of annual awards each year.”

Danny Phan, winner of the 2006 Asia Pacific PR Young Professional of the Year award, transfers to the Singapore office of Ogilvy PR from Ho Chi Minh City, where he built up an award-winning agency starting with just two people in 2004. Under Danny’s leadership the Ho Chi Minh office has handled high-profile assignments for companies such as Unilever, Mead Johnson, Academy for Education Development/ USAID, Deutsche Bank and Ford.

In his new role Danny will work with the Singapore government ministries and statuary boards on public branding and awareness campaigns. His past work with USAID garnered awards. In addition, Danny will work alongside clients, government bodies and partners on sustainability issues ranging from the environment to poverty alleviation in the region.

“Danny has proven he is a fine operator who gives wise counsel on complex issues such as avian flu and sustainability,” said Graves. “We’re glad to have him now as a regional resource in what will soon become a whole new practice for the region.”
