High Consumer Confidence in Bang & Olufsen

PRESS RELEASE

May 2008

Bang & Olufsen has come in second in a comprehensive consumer confidence survey by the Reputation Institute, the leading international organization devoted to advancing knowledge about corporate reputations.

Bang & Olufsen continues to fascinate and appeal to Danish consumers. In the largest survey of its kind ever performed in Denmark, Bang & Olufsen has been ranked second among companies with the best corporate reputations.

In the Danish leg of the Global Pulse 2008 survey, more than 3,000 Danish consumers were asked to rate companies according to the degree of their respect for and confidence in the company as well as their impression of the overall reputation of the company.

"I think this is a very impressive result, and something that Bang & Olufsen can be proud of. Denmark is the home market of Bang & Olufsen, so we are very pleased to see that we continue to enjoy the confidence and respect of Danish consumers," says Global Marketing Director Kasper Eis.

He is especially pleased with the result given that the survey was conducted in January and February 2008: "With our turnover under pressure in the current difficult economic situation, it is encouraging to see that consumers have as much confidence in the brand as ever before," says Kasper Eis.

This year's survey clearly indicates that consumers have a particularly high regard for the products and services of Bang & Olufsen. Of the seven core dimensions that consumers were asked to take into consideration, Bang & Olufsen scored the highest ranking in the products and services category.

"This is interesting to us, especially since research shows a clear connection between consumer confidence and the willingness of consumers to buy and also recommend the products and services of a company," Kasper Eis concludes.

The Reputation Institute has been studying the dynamics of corporate reputations in numerous countries, including Australia, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK and the US since 1997. The top line results of each annual study are published worldwide through Forbes as a ranking of 'The World's Most Respected Companies'.
