At 14:28 on 12 May 2008, an M 8.0 earthquake hit Wenchuan, Sichuan Province. The earthquake resulted in the most serious devastation since the foundation of the People's Republic of China and inflicted enormous human and property losses in Sichuan Province and neighbouring areas. Under these unprecedented extreme circumstances, all Chinese people, helped by selfless donations from all over China and around the world, devoted great sympathy to their own people.
Objective:
To mobilise all resources to contribute to the earthquake rescue. To engage designers in encouraging people who have suffered and persist in their combat against the earthquake. The exhibition of posters will be exhibited, edited and published to commemorate the disaster.
Theme:
The theme is 'Unified Determination Mitigating Quake Disaster'.
Participation:
Teachers and students from design universities and personnel from design institutions may take part in the exhibition. Design firms and designers from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Singapore, etc. are invited to contribute.
Exhibition:
512 pieces will be chosen for the final exhibition. The exhibition will take place in business centers, streets and schools of the major quake-hit cities in Sichuan Province at the appropriate time.
Deadline:
Pieces must be submitted by 25 June 2008.
Certificates:
Chosen pieces will be awarded an exhibition certificate and collection albums will be given as gifts.
