Quark announced QuarkXPress® 8, the next major release of the industry standard page-layout and design software that delivers superior design power through a new, modern and intuitive interface. The new software will be available for purchase directly from Quark and through Quark® resellers worldwide within the next 60 days. In the interim - between May 29, 2008 and August 1, 2008 – Quark users who purchase or upgrade to QuarkXPress 7 at regular price are eligible to upgrade to QuarkXPress 8 for free.

QuarkXPress 7 was one of the most significant upgrades to QuarkXPress ever. With more than 160 new and enhanced features, QuarkXPress 7 has improved page-layout and design workflow with features such as Composition Zones®, Job Jackets®, and advanced transparency and drop shadow functionality.
